1. The agreement

These terms are between you, the parent or guardian who creates an account, and [LAWYER: legal entity name] ("Koleeza", "we"). By creating an account you accept them and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of every child you add.

2. What Koleeza is

Koleeza gives primary-school children practice built on Uganda's primary curriculum, with an explanation on every question and progress reports for parents. It supports learning; it is not a school, a tutor or an examination body, and it makes no promise about examination results. We are not affiliated with the curriculum authorities whose syllabuses we follow.

3. Your account and your children's profiles

  • You are responsible for your account and for every learner profile on it.
  • Each profile is for one child. A learner code and PIN must not be shared between children or with anyone outside your family. We may tell you when we see signs of sharing, and may suspend a profile that is clearly shared.
  • Keep your password and your children's PINs private. Tell us at once if you think an account has been misused.
  • You may delete a profile, or your whole account, at any time from your dashboard or by emailing us.

4. Free use

Every child may practise a number of questions in each subject for free, and a small number of quizzes each week after that, without payment. We may change these free amounts; we will not reduce what a child has already been given.

5. Paid plans

  • Prices and what each plan covers are shown on our Pricing page and again before you pay. Prices are in Ugandan Shillings.
  • A plan covers the children, and where the plan says so the subjects, you choose at checkout. Each child (and subject) has its own cover dates, shown on your dashboard.
  • Term plans cover the school term you buy and the holiday after it, up to the day the next term starts. A term bought in its last three weeks buys the next term; the rest of the current one is free. Monthly plans cover one month from payment, or extend an unexpired month.
  • Nothing renews by itself. We remind you before cover ends; you decide whether to buy again. After cover ends a child may keep practising for three further days.
  • School-term dates follow the official calendar. Where we publish dates before they are confirmed we say so, and we correct them when the calendar is confirmed; cover you have already paid for is not shortened by a correction.

6. Payment

  • We take payment through MTN Mobile Money. You approve each payment on your own phone with your Mobile Money PIN; we never see it.
  • Cover starts when MTN confirms the payment, and we email you a receipt.
  • If a payment is not approved within 30 minutes it lapses and nothing is charged.

7. Refunds

[LAWYER / DECISION: proposed rule — a full refund if you ask within seven days of paying and the paid seat has not been used for practice; otherwise no refund, except where we fail to provide the service. Refunds go back to the Mobile Money number that paid. Confirm this is lawful and acceptable.]

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, scrape, resell or redistribute our questions, explanations or other content;
  • share learner codes or use one profile for more than one child;
  • attempt to break into, overload or interfere with the service;
  • use the service for anything unlawful.

9. Our content

The questions, explanations, pictures, reports and software are ours or our licensors' and are protected by copyright. You may use them only for your own children's learning through the service. Curriculum frameworks and syllabuses belong to their respective authorities.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee it. We may change or withdraw features, and we may update these terms; if a change matters to you we will email the address on your account before it takes effect. If a change would reduce cover you have already paid for, you may ask for a pro-rata refund of the affected period instead.

11. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after giving you notice where that is reasonable. Closing an account ends any unused cover [LAWYER: unless we closed it without cause, in which case the unused portion is refunded].

12. Liability

[LAWYER: limitation of liability — proposed: our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim; nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Ugandan law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.]

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda and the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction. [LAWYER: consider a first step of good-faith negotiation, and whether the Consumer Protection provisions require particular wording.]
